SAVING LIVES ONE BOX AT A TIME
Deaths from opioid overdose in the U.S. continue to climb each year and innovative solutions to address the crisis are necessary to save lives. The early and timely administration of naloxone can improve outcomes of victims of overdose and is more important than ever with the increasing potency of synthetic and illicit opioids like fentanyl.
The NaloxBox mission is to improve the capacity of bystander rescuers to save the lives of victims of opioid overdose by strategically placing innovative rescue cabinets in settings most in need of quickly accessible, public use naloxone. NaloxBox is managed by RIDMAT, Inc. a 501 (c) RI based non-profit organization.
GOAL 1: Reduce morbidity and mortality from opioid overdose through the early administration of naloxone.
GOAL 2: Reduce stigma associated with opioid and substance use disorder.
As a non-profit orgnizaiton, RIDMAT is working with other non-profit groups and institutions to create the rescue resource right here in Rhode Island. We work to foster economic growth and increase recovery capital in our State that has been hard hit by the opioid epidemic. The NaloxBox mission is important and simple:
Increase Access, Reduce Stigma, Save Lives one Box at a Time
